Finally it comes out, Asian Americans most bullied in schools. Can anyone say school shootings? The article in Breitbart states: “54 percent of Asian American teenagers said they were bullied in the classroom, sharply above the 31.3 percent of whites who reported being picked on.” Cyber bullying? It happens there too. “Some 62 percent of Asian Americans reported online harassment once or twice a month, compared with 18.1 percent of whites. The researcher said more study was needed on why the problem is so severe among Asian Americans.” (Breitbart – Asian Americans Picked)

Performer Kristina Wong lives the dream, working on stages and campuses across the country. Or does she? The Los Angeles resident is most famous for portraying a depressed, suicidal actress in Wong Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, followed by another one-woman show about failed attempts at eco-friendly living, Going Green The Wong Way. Her latest work, Cat Lady, is an ensemble piece that is less political than her other shows but addresses the equally divisive topics of pick-up artistry and the show’s hair-covered and lonely namesakes. On the eve of the latter’s upcoming stint at the ODC Dance Theater in San Francisco (November 4-6), I decided to catch up with my distant cousin and Big Bad Chinese Mama.

HBO making a show called China Doll which is the brainchild of the creators of Big Love. “It is about China, Chinese Americans, robots, the effect of technology on our lives and the China moment in American consciousness,” says Mark Olsen – one of the creators. A mixed racial marriage, Asian woman of course and a robot!? Wow, it’s back to the past when robots made it into sitcoms. (Collider – China Doll) )
