I admittedly know little about Larry Itliong, except for when a strong professor I met while at the Smithsonian and teaches at SF State made sure I left knowing about Larry Itliong. She’s even quoted in this article that talks about Itliong’s role in the grape strikes of the 60s. He’s been greatly forgotten in among the big name of Cesar Chavez. “In popular culture, it’s seen as a Chicano movement, not as the multiethnic alliance that it actually was,” said Dawn Bohulano Mabalon, an associate professor of history at San Francisco State University. The LA Times released a story about Bryan Chan’s epic time lapse of the Space Shuttle Endeavour and how he did it. That said, he also generously gives mention to another time lapse by Michael Givot which is stunning in different ways.
