Jessica Yu interviewed by the LA Times about water in promotion of her film, “Last Call at the Oasis”. It’s about water and it’s depletion. This one quote says it all, “When Famiglietti says the aquifer under the Central Valley, which we use to irrigate a lot of the crops that provide one-fourth of the food in this country, could be depleted in as little as 60 years — that absolutely floored me.” (LA Times – Jessica Yu)

Revelation Records‘ 25th anniversary happened last weekend and I went to two of the four shows. Here are some pics that I’m sharing in B&W. As my friend Ben Clark says, that’s how punk rock is supposed to look. Sorry, no Quicksand pics because I didn’t go on Sunday. I suggest you keep an eye on Atiba Jefferson‘s site because his Instagram pics from the shows were pretty hot. Bobby Hundreds covered it on his blog, too.

Night Zero, which was added after the weekend shows were announced had the widest range of sounds and styles. The first two bands, Kiss It Goodbye (Seattle) and In My Eyes (Boston), were of the straight-up, no-bullshit, unfiltered hardcore and straight edge variety.

Andre Ward (above) says: If it was me personally, I would admit defeat and say, ‘Here’s your belt back.’” (SFGate – Ward) Usually after a bad decision, people go to the tapes then they come up with the, “turn down the sound and then you’ll see…” but it’s not happening this time around? Why? Yes, maybe there’s not much else to find out. What’s left to do? Start a Twitter campaign for Tim Bradley to give the belt back? #GIVEITBACK ? Surely there’s tons of money in it for Bradley, so he’s not giving back a belt any time soon… It could be the difference of ten million dollars, but Bradley has to admit defeat against Pacquiao and still get a rematch.

The group which is now spread larger than ever with teams of 16 females in more than one city in Japan is now beginning in other countries as well. Jakarta has a team and so forth. Fans get to cast votes and the top can record a single, solo. Beginning in 2005, this project has grown to 200 million in sales and will continue onward. But… will we see LA48 or NY48?
