Imagine if it happened… College majors that don’t pay, like English, History, Psychology, Art were cancelled. China may do this at their colleges since the jobless numbers seem to be increasing alongside of the number of graduates. It’s facing some resistance, but at the same time, imagine if it happened here. It would support a logjam of people with similar majors fighting for the same jobs. Will that help or create yet a larger problem? (WSJ – Education)

Cellphone novels? Some of you will cringe and those of you who slave over syntax of your words via computer are probably about to get mad. In Japan, authors actually create “literature” via text messages. This is an amazing feat and it’s working out. This story tells of a 21 year old, Rin who’s debut novel sold 400,000 copies and became number 5 in 2007. Our world definitely has changed, and how a novel can be written originally from texts is baffling, and they sell too? It continues to grow, even the list from last year, yields 5 of the top 10 best selling books. Imagine, seeing a person texting is no longer just sending a message, but it’s actually creative writing. (NY Times – Cellphone Authors)

  Wired Science shared  this feature on a new iPhone app that sends you pictures from hidden cameras in the wild. They’ll send you kinda creepy surprise snapshots of wild animals minding their own business,but getting Big Brother-ed by the Instant Wild app that’s free for your phone or iPad, or you can also check out the random pictures online. This is great for anyone who misses the Baby Pandacam craze of the beginning of the millenium – this is just less warm and fuzzy and more cell-phone stalker steez. Keep tabs on animals in Kenya, Sri Lanka, Mongolia and some bummed out not-so-wild animals in a UK zoo. Still, fun to see what they do when they think we aren’t looking.

It takes motion and depth perception and is an insane feat using the technology of today’s games. Both games provide very separate experiences and is guaranteed to amaze.
