The Talk took place on 10.30.16 and although it was a rainy morning, people came out to hear Hellen Jo and Jen Wang talk about indie comics and art. Although it was for the both of them to talk about whatever they wanted, Jen Wang definitely took control and came prepared to unpeel Hellen Jo just a tiny bit. Enjoy. GR Interview: Artist Hellen Jo

Hellen Jo is an illustrator and comic book artist, but most of all she's inspiring. While sitting on a recent panel at the LA Zine Fest, most of the panelists cited Hellen Jo as an inspiration. Her work is empowering with a strong viewpoint. Her lines, colors, and characters amazes and grows on you. at Giant Robot – Mr Dave Kiersh

Mr Dave Kiersh, a man I’ve been calling “Indie Comics Hero” who’s a huge Afterschool Special fan made a quick stop at Giant Robot on sunday to talk a bit about his book and actually have folks live through what he’s into. Aside from reading a story, he showed an episode of an Afterschool Special episode starring Chad Lowe! It turns out the nostalgia of the shows is something that inspires his stories. Hope he stops through again. It’s one thing to just work on a publication and be into it, but this man lives through it all. If you ever meet him, ask him for his Afterschool Special collection!
