David Choe’s Yellow Armor Print Giveaway Yields 1000+ Entries

  Since a lot of you saw it here, we’ll post what he said about the entries: “Hey Kids thanks for playing! It’s 5am in new York I just got a call from Bobby Namba saying We got over a thousand submissions all around the Same time , I gotta be honest even though everyone loves free shit (and let’s be honest this wasn’t entirely free i did ask for a tiny piece of your soul ) I didn’t think so many people would come through with my requests, and actually alot of you didn’t , all the ones that didn’t follow instructions or wrote me “hey dave choi I love your art dude I’m Your biggest fan send my free print to …” without completing any of the redemptive good deed tasks, were thrown out … if you did what I asked and got it in with the quickness to the first 111 people, you will get something nice from me soon (if you bitch or complain about anything to me or Bobby, your print is getting reneged remember that some stranger did something nice for you and spread the love assholes

Kamen Rider Vs. Super Sentai Celebrates 40 Years

 

KAMEN RIDER Vs. SUPER SENTAI kicked off a double anniversary celebration of Ishimori Shotaro’s famous characters in downtown Los Angeles last weekend.  Curated by Little Tokyo’s new pop-culture shop addition, Q Pop Shop, and supported by Bandai and Anime Jungle, this official tribute honors 40 years of Kamen Rider and 35 years of Super Sentai.  150 artists offered a unique and eclectic twist on these retro icons that have captivated generations.  Super Sentai would eventually evolve into today’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series.  Artists representing Japan included a rare mix such as TOUMA, Devil Robots, Chikuwaemil, Mad Barbarians, and Yucachin’- joined by Luke Chueh, Misha, Martin Hsu, Lillidoll, and a larger-than- life Kamen Rider.  The timing of this exhibit, hosted by JACCC  (Japanese American Cultural Community Center), falls on coinciding celebrations.  In Japan, Bandai is simultaneously developing a new Super Sentai artist-series line.  Their video game “Super Sentai Battle Ranger Cross” was released in September this year.  “KAMEN RIDER Vs. SUPER SENTAI: Anniversaries Tribute Exhibition” exhibits at JACCC in downtown Los Angeles, from November 5 – November 13, 2011. (Text and photos by Caro)

So this Friday at 11:11 pm west coast time on 11/11/11 the first 111 people to send everything on this checklist (email responses only) to bnamba@live.com 1) Proof of donating blood, sperm, organs, marrow, food, or money to any good cause or charity or also proof of consensual incestuous relationship is acceptable 2) Apology or confessional letter 3) Photograph of you crying (or laughing so hard it looks like your crying) next to a deformed fruit, or any ape, or a really old or really young Oriental person, or someone shitting or video of you dancing really hard in a crowded public area for at least 5 minutes is acceptable 4) Proof of something that shows you ever loved someone Will be rewarded with a print of YELLOW ARMOUR that will cost them 0 dollars and 0 cents, and 0 dollars for shipping, this is a free print, it is 18 by 24 inches printed on the best paper, all signed and numbered, there will also be a very limited edition of 11 oversize prints that will actually be for sale for non-charitable types who don’t know love or forgiveness, these are 33 by 44 inches and cost 555$ each (I actually only have 6 of these left) We are working on the honor system but anything forged or faked will be thrown out (we have experts on the scene) any emails sent before 11:11 on 11/11/11 will be disregarded.
