Yu Darvish  - the player with the one of the strangest names, may be pitching in the US in 2012. He’s a 6 foot 5 inch baseball player who throws hard, has variety, and is one of the best in Japan. He’s half Iranian, half Japanese and once said he’d never leave Japan. But his team is struggling financially, and it might be time for him to really make a move. Teams will line up for his services and they’ll pay the huge amounts to get him. He’s only 25. Hotel of Doom is now set to open. If you’re here, you’ve either done something weird, are working, or are busted. This is the infamous North Korean hotel. Yes, it’s opening, most of us shouldn’t care about this 105 floor building, but the fact is, it took 24 years. That said, the last sentence is troubling. “Earlier this year the regime announced it would shut universities for 10 months and send students to work in factories, agriculture and the construction sector to help rebuild its economy by 2012.” That’s an education! Don’t mess with the King. A Colorado Thai American man, Joe Gordon did just that. He translated parts of a banned book about the King and posted it online. He went to Thailand for medical treatment (we wonder what kind?) and was put in jail. He’s now pleading guilty after trying the innocent route and he’ll be soon forgotten until he gets out. Who’s going to be in his corner on this one besides unnamed embassy helpers? Where’s Gore or Carter? It’s a tough battle in Thailand, where the King is revered by much of the population. You can’t make fun of him, or anything like that, or else even the common folk will get pissed. They actually like him. (Fox – Thai King)

It’s not finalized yet, but it’s possible that you can apply and you can get a free ticket to Japan, supposedly the tourist board will ask for 150 million dollars in funding. This is the site in Japanese. “The objective is to have the 10,000 tourists discuss their experiences online, and allow word-of-mouth reports to propagate about safe and hassle-free travel in Japan. Visitors will also fill out a questionnaire about how they feel about visiting Japan after the earthquake and any proposals they might have to renew interest in tourism. The Ministry will request $150 million in funding for this program.” (Yahoo – 10,000) (Aya.shii.org – 10,000)
