Apolo Anton Ohno was appointed to be on the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. He can dance with the stars, actually he is the star and now appointed to this position. Aside from being a familiar face without any negative publicity, is this is a position of work or just honor? Does homie really know about Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders? There’s been a few more appointees who are Asian American. C’mon B! (Whitehouse.gov – Appointments)

There are still people and places in the world that demand a wife to be a virgin. In some of these places, women get pummeled or outcasted if they’re not. What happens if you “did it” on a drunken stupor, or worse yet what if “it” was taken from you. It’s really not a joking matter in the latter, but at the same time, this product is either the most ridiculous thing or it’ll save lives and to many and could be the most important thing. Aside from what could be a pricey, difficult, painful, or just impossible operation, this little device might be the “fixit” ticket or for some, a “get out of jail free card.” Of course leave it to Japan. This product called Joan of Arc (2 in a box), is an artificial hymen. The box graphics are insane. A broken window, perhaps a BB gun shot that broke the plane. This is a device that you insert, leave in, and when the “moment” happens it basically squirts blood. Yes you’re supposed to fake the pain, or whatever comes with it. But two in a box? That’s bordering cosplay. According to Chinahush.com, people in the Middle East do use it. Their instructions on how to use it read like the side of a box in a foreign country. You’re not sure what to believe. (Chinahush – Joan of Arc)

I’ve heard the perils and desperation of making a figure. Artists want to make them, business kids want to profit by making them. The crazy fans who want them at any cost. Lie, bring your maid to buy you an extra, hire someone to act like a customer, or mule it. How about a back story? Yes, make one up and get that “street lineage”. You worked with who? You know who? The sculptor is who? The factory will remain a secret. Your cost per item will also remain a secret! It’s a toy. But the next level and maybe this is the furthest level. Karakuri. Watch the video below by Al Jazeera. The craftmanship of these automata are amazing, and the things they do require physics, engineering, and more. These are beyond figures and toys. Prepare to have your mind blown.

Asian American baseball players. Here’s part one of two. It’s not the longest list, but it’s only getting better. This is a 2000-2005 version which is missing one of our favorite players, the 420 loving long haired pitcher for the SF Giants. It’s also not complete, but that’s fine, This list has plenty of players we’d have never thought of or heard of. Some don’t have the best stories after their names or if you look at the stats, but that’s often the plight of Asian Americans in sports – it’s feast or famine. (Asianweek – Asian Americans in Baseball)
