It’s the debris field that is circling the Pacific Ocean, but the new highlight? It’s the tsunami garbage. Bits of wood, plastic, houses, body parts, and destroyed lives. It’s an eco-tour that actually leaves from Hawaii… Sea sick lately? This tour sounds like barrels of fun. The high seas, a boat, and floating garbage. I’ll admit when I first saw the words, Siri, I thought “Dat Ass!” but I kept it to myself. What am I, 10? It’s a Japanese word. It’s usually spelled Shiri or Oshiri, but Siri can also work, it depends on the translation spelling technique. It means butt. Surely this was brought up a few times by someone at Apple, which can also bring up an image of “Apple Bottom” so maybe it’s all intentional. (msnbc – Siri)

Why pagodas which made of wood, don’t sway and break down in an earthquake? The answer is in the levels where the eaves pop out so far. A) it helps with the foundation and water run off, otherwise, the water would just soften the foundation. B) it acts as stabilizers! There’s also a giant spire that hangs from the center. It acts like a pendulum so it helps keep the balance right. At times it doesn’t even touch the ground. How did Japanese architects in the 7th century know this? (Gizmodo – Pagoda)

This contraption washes your hair is made by Panasonic. Imagine for the injured, paralyzed, arthritic, or just plain lady, this chair set up will wash those locks! Imagine a salon with these everywhere. Perhaps you can just walk in and pay $1 for a hair wash… This isn’t looking that great, and they’re not willing to test it on a person? It must have a ways to go. Robots aren’t always great, this one look to be one of them. (Reuters – Wash Hair)
